CASTELMOLA

Castelmola stands on a limestone rock, raised above the neighboring towns as if it were suspended. Medieval village with history and evocative panorama – ranges from Etna to the Strait of Messina with an eye also to the Calabrian coast -. Originally built as a defensive outpost to protect Taormina, as evidenced by the presence of the Norman walls residue of the imposing Castle, it's part, for its historical and artistic heritage, of the circuit "Most beautiful villages in Italy".
