The Ville


Located halfway between Giarre and Riposto, he b&B Villa Maria is the ideal place to stay for both short and long periods, or to spend your holidays, in any season of the year. The centrality of its position allows you to easily and quickly reach every point of interest nearby: from the very famous “Ionian pearl” Taormina, to no less attractive and lively Catania, from the baroque Acireale to the fascinating gorges of the Alcantara river, without forgetting - it is impossible to do it on the other hand - the monumental Etna volcano with its Etna Park and its countless attractions.


The Ville

Built in the distant past 1860, Villa Maria was initially a warehouse of the great estate of Prince Grimaldi, before becoming home to the custodians of the prince's villa; its long history reaches its peak during the Second World War: in this period it becomes in fact an ophthalmic clinic - several are the objects of this activity still remained on site - and, given its favorable position, adjacent to the railway and halfway between the sea and Etna, a strategic point for the Germans; sensitive target of the Allies, miraculously survived their bombing. Post conflict the shops located on the ground floor - overlooking Corso Italia - are rented to a shoemaker and a barber, together with a part of the upper floor.
Coming to the present day, It is in the 1981 that the property returns to directly manage the property, taking care of the garden – perfecting it with various precious additions – and readjusting the premises through a targeted renovation that leads to the achievement of the last recent transformation: he b&B Villa Maria.

The garden

A delicate garden, clean and well-kept surrounds the north-east side of the villa. A small elegant corner of greenery planted in the 1890 and finished with a cobblestone pavement mounted in the 1902, endowed with a colorful variety of flowers and plants among which a Cycas revoluta stands out 100 years, a Strawberry Tree (typical Sicilian plant), an almost centennial Camellia japonica, a Laurus nobilis, an orange, a mandarin, a lemon and much more. A heterogeneous mixture of colors and scents which overlooks most of the balconies and windows of the building enriched by the presence of a typical Mediterranean gazebo covered with jasmine and white climbing rose: a graceful and harmonious show at any season of the year.


THE BREAKFAST

Sitting comfortably in the breakfast room or on the veranda in front of the garden, start your day with a rich and delicious meal.

VillaMaria offers a varied and complete breakfast, to meet every need and taste. It provides a wide range of healthy and genuine products including fruit, marmalade, cereals, yogurt and homemade baked goods every morning, and a salty corner with bread, salami and cheese. All accompanied naturally by water and coffee, latte, various teas and juices.

Breakfast is available every morning from hours 7.00 and until hours 9.00
