Giarre, the 17 May the fifth edition of the Radicepura Garden Festival starts
Will start the 17 May in Giarre la fifth edition of the Radicepura Garden Festival, biennial of the Mediterranean garden open until al 7 December 2025. In the Radicepura Botanical Park it will be possible to visit 10 temporary gardens e 7 permanent gardens, made with plants made available by Piante Faro.
THEME AND PROJECTS RADICEPURA GARDEN FESTIVAL
The theme of this fifth edition, chosen by the Artistic Director Antonio Perazzi, will be Chaos (and) order in the Garden. “The selected projects explore the guiding theme: nature is reborn from chaos and ideas are organised. The garden in this historical moment straddles the natural and the artificial and the projects that will be created give space to the slow times typical of nature, revealing the possibility of creating amazement and wonder, supporting development without rigid design standards, a way to respect the environment and the underlying ecosystems which in this way manage to coexist" comment Antonio Perazzi.
Il festival si conferma infatti un’importante occasione, unica nel suo genere, from pratica concreta del paesaggio mediterraneo. In quest’ottica sono significative le numerose testimonianze che, edizione dopo edizione, paesaggisti di fama internazionale lasciano nel Parco, dando vita a una vera e propria collezione d’autore che al momento vanta contributi di François Abéllanet, James Basson, Paolo Pejrone, Michael Péna, Antonio Perazzi, Andy Sturgeon e Kamelia Bin Zaal. Oltre al giardino di Sarah Eberle, la quinta edizione presenterà dieci giardini – of which 8 in concorso e 2 nella categoria Off Gardens – realizzati da altrettanti team di architetti e paesaggisti under 36 selected through an international call.
ARTE E WORKSHOP RADICEPURA GARDEN FESTIVAL
La Biennale del paesaggio offre la possibilità di approfondire il tema della natura e lo declina in tanti linguaggi artistici. RADICEPURA GARDEN FESTIVAL EVENTS
Space for the cinema, in the end, with the return of the event created by Ornella Sgroi Garden in Movies (1-3 August), to which the international short film competition with the intention of investigating the garden theme through film narration, in a broad perspective capable of connecting the visual world with the centuries-old culture of the garden and landscape and stimulating a multicultural and contemporary debate. There is time until 30 April to participate in the Garden-in-Movies/ShortFilmFest competition, open to all short fiction films, documentaries, of animation, of any narrative genre (drama, commedia, thriller, science fiction, Fantastic, noir, ecc.), della durata massima di 15 minutes, di qualsiasi nazionalità, editi o inediti, purché prodotti dopo l’1 gennaio 2023.
Il festival terminerà infine il 7 December with the assignment of Gardenia Award. Non mancheranno poi i classici appuntamenti delle Domeniche in giardino, eventi a tema musica e gastronomia, oltre ai percorsi didattici. Sarà possibile prenotare e organizzare attività altamente personalizzate con gli esperti di Radicepura e i partner della manifestazione, as well as workshops and laboratories dedicated to the little ones.
