ALTARIAN OF ARGIMUSCO

Defined as the Sicilian Stonehenge, the Argimusco plateau is a fascinating historical-naturalistic site in which there is a complex of sandstone megaliths; according to popular tradition their origin was due to the hand of man in prehistoric times, for archaeologists and geomorphologists, on the other hand, it would be a natural phenomenon resulting from wind erosion: included in the Reserve of the Malabotta Woods, it is an indispensable path for lovers of trekking, and not only, embellished by the Festival of Archaeoastronomy ‘Stones & Stars’ established in 2012.
