Catania, at the Palazzo della Cultura the exhibition Κοντά

It opened in recent days at Palace of Culture of Catania and will remain open to visitors until 10 agosto la mostra Nearby, by the Sicilian visual artist Fabio Modica.
The exhibition, co-organized with the Municipality of Catania, is curated by Giuseppe Stagnitta and produced by Dietro le Quinte della Galleria di Daniela Arionte. Near, Greek word meaning “near” e “get closer”, embodies the poetics that permeates the entire exhibition itinerary. An enveloping exhibition like a large body that unites the different and imposing canvases proposed. The exhibition includes the two sketches and video documentaries of the mural works created by the artist for the Emergency Festival, dedicated to Peppino Impastato.

THE ARTIST

The versatile and prolific artist from Catania, class 1978, presents with his works segments of human physiognomies trapped within the confines of the paintings and projected towards contact to recompose a single silhouette. And overcome too, symbolically, the closures and limits imposed on human relationships by the pandemic period and the consequent excessive use of digital. Fabio Modica is present in numerous collective and personal exhibitions in Italy and abroad including Shanghai, Taipei, Atlanta, Chicago, Hong Kong, Nice, Barcelona, London.

Opening to the public is planned, with free entry, from Monday to Saturday from hours 9 at 19. Sundays and holidays from hours 9 at 13.
