CASTELMOLA

Castelmola rises on a limestone rock, raised compared to the neighboring towns as if it were suspended. Medieval village with history and suggestive landscape – it ranges from Etna to the Strait of Messina with an eye also to the Calabrian coast -. Originally built as a defensive outpost to protect Taormina, as evidenced by the presence of the remaining Norman walls of the imposing Castle, it is part of the ‘Most Beautiful Villages of Italy’ circuit for its historical and artistic heritage.
