Catania, until the 6 October the Open Up exhibition
Open Up is the art exhibition by Massimiliano Frumenti that Modern art gallery, in via Castello Ursino 32, offers to the public until 6 October.The exhibition showcases works by the artist, originally from Rome but resident in Catania for years, which are a life path. E’ art that accompanies everyday life, becoming thought from time to time, research, tale, structure. The title of the exhibition evokes the contrast to the lockdown caused by the pandemic.
OPEN UP
The different jobs, in their changing, they follow an almost biological rhythm over time, increasingly essential images give way to various textures, to backgrounds of color that come together in an ever new way with exiled materials. Fertilizing signs, primitive, and also many images of women, told with warm colors and always with mixed techniques. Open Up is open to the public from Monday to Saturday, The exhibition will be open to the public from 16 at 19, entry is free.
THE MODERN ART GALLERY
The Gallery of Modern Art of Catania is located in the rooms that in the past housed the Church and Monastery of Santa Chiara. The building, dating back to the second half of the eighteenth century, is destroyed in 1943 from the bombings of the Second World War. It will be rebuilt to house municipal offices. In 2013 some restoration and anti-seismic consolidation works are financed.
Gives Villa Maria you can easily reach Catania by car and by train (the railway station is just a few meters away) in about 20 minutes.
